Healthy Lunch boxes your kids
will actually eat and enjoy |

| You can be surprised to see the variety of things kids eat from their lunch boxes. Some can snack on sushi, while others eat cookies and a few eat a healthy salad or a meat and vegetable sandwich. Obviously kids’ taste buds are expanding and that’s a good thing. A lunch that you put together—hopefully with your kids’ help—is a great opportunity to get them to try new things while making sure that they’re eating right. |

Let your kids be the boss |
|
|
Well, not really—but give them the illusion that they’re running the lunch show by asking your kids what new fruits and vegetables they’d like to try. If you have a local farmers’ market, take them there and have them pick out a few seasonal items and then you can go online and look for kid-friendly recipes using those things.
Try incorporating one new food each week. If your kid is super-picky, you could create a list of foods to try for the month, and give them a star for each one they eat. Once they reach 10 stars, they get a prize, such as their favorite meal or getting to put their favorite video. |

Presentation is very important |

A sandwich becomes something a bit more special and interesting if it’s in a fun shape. Try cutting sandwiches into strips to make it easier for little hands to pick up and eat, or use a fun cutter like a star, heart or animal shape.
Most kids love to carry special lunch boxes in the form of a lion, a dog or a rabbit with a coordinating placemat. |

Mini is best |

Kids like cute things, and mini versions of favorite foods. You can go mini with lots of things by using mini quick breads, crustless quiche, mini brownies, mini muffins. |

Food by seasons |
|
|
Back to school is the perfect time to go seasonal with kids’ lunches. For a kid-friendly salad that won’t wilt in the heat, dice tomates, toss the dressing and add a bit of cheese or ham.
Add seasonal fruits to the salad or send them in a separate tupperware. |

Go global |
|
| |
When you’re trying to get your kids to eat something new, say North African this and that or Chinese this and that. Let them explore and imagine eating what Dora eats. Point out on a map where these countries are and learn about new places and food together. |

Lunch delivery programs are giving kids fun lunchtime options that are healthy and fun.
Kids like stickers packed with food, as well as games and sweet notes, to let them know you care for them. Personalize with labels each creation, with funny names as Spider man´s salad, Barbie´s cookies etc. |
