Combine sugar with cornstarch and cinnamon in a medium size pan. Add strawberries and lemon juice and combine. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils and thickens. Pour mixture into a greased 4 cup capacity serving dish. Keep warm, if necessary in the oven.
Place butter with flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in the food processor. Add milk and combine. Spoon mixture over strawberries. Bake in preheated oven to 400ºF (200ºC) for 25 – 30 minutes or until pastry on top is colored.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
