    PLANTAINS IN ORANGE JUICE AND SYRUP     

   Ingredients :
 
8 plantains (cooking banana), cut in 1-inch (2.5 cm) pieces
½ cup water
Juice of 2 oranges
2 cups sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1 clove

   Preparation:

Combine water with orange juice and sugar. Pour this mixture into a large skillet. Place plantain pieces in skillet in one layer with cinnamon stick and clove.

Bring to a boil at low heat during 30 minutes, turning plantains often.

Serve in a serving dish with syrup.

Can be served with turkey, chicken and different meats.
