CANDIED KUMQUATS   
  Ingredients :
    1 cup water
    ½ cup sugar
    15 kumquats, cut crosswise into 4 slices, seeded

  Preparation:

Place water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil until sugar dissolves. Add sliced kumquats and reduce heat. Cook until kumquats become translucent and tender, stirring occasionally about 15 minutes.
 
        Yields: ½ cup candied kumquats
