    CREAM CHEESE ROLL WITH TOMATO AND BASIL     

   Ingredients :
 
8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, at room temperature
1 – 2 tablespoons soda water
¼ cup basil leaves, finely chopped
1 large tomato, peeled, seeded and drained, finely chopped
Sesame seeds, toasted to sprinkle over roll
Salt
Pepper

   Preparation:

Place cream cheese in a medium size bowl and combine with just enough soda water to soften it.
Add chopped tomato, basil, salt and pepper.
Place plastic wrap or aluminum foil on a horizontal surface and place cheese mixture.
Form a roll and wrap. Refrigerate.
Before serving, remove wrap and transfer roll to a serving dish. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top.
Serve with soda crackers or toasted pita bread triangles.

Preparation time: 15 minutes + 1 hour in the refrigerator
