Chacas is a village in the Conchucos region. Its inhabitants have two common denominators: devotion to Our Lady of the Assumption, known here as Mama Ashu, and the carpentry work carried out by the boys of the area in the Don Bosco Workshop. This workshop-school looks after poor orphan boys for five years without charge and teaches them carpentry and the art of woodcarving. see more
