    LAYERED SALAD     

   Ingredients :
 
3 cups lettuce torn into small pieces
Salt
Pinch of sugar
Pepper
3 hard cooked eggs, sliced
5 oz (150 g) peas, cooked
5 slices bacon, cooked until crisp, drained and crumbled
1 cup chicken breast, cooked and shredded
1 cup broccoli florets, cooked
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese or similar
1 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
½ green onions, chopped
Paprika

   Preparation:

In a 2 quart (8 cups), clear glass salad bowl, place 1 ½ cup of the lettuce. Sprinkle with salt, sugar and pepper. Stand egg slices against the side of the bowl and cover the lettuce with remaining egg slices. Sprinkle with remaining salt.

Sprinkle peas over the eggs. Place chicken on top. Sprinkle salt and pepper and drizzle with mayonnaise. Place a layer of broccoli florets. Top with remaining lettuce. Sprinkle bacon over lettuce and cheese over bacon. Spread mayonnaise or salad dressing. Top with green onions and sprinkle with paprika.

Cover with plastic film and chill for one or two hours. Toss salad at the table before serving.
